Douglas B. Daining

I am a Pediatrician who serves at Alger Pediatrics, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I got my first taste of the power of photography when my parents gave me a Kodak Brownie camera for my fifth birthday. In college I borrowed my dad's Argus C3 for a road trip, and never gave it back. That is is when I fell in love with landscape photography.

Photography grants me license to pause and soak in the beauty of the land. With a camera in my hand I search for patterns and design amid the chaos, and I note the way light illuminates the landscape. I greet the extremes of weather with enthusiasm and rise before dawn with anticipation, dreaming of what nature has in store for me. I view nature with the eye of an artist to fully appreciate what God, the penultimate artist, has created.

I would like to know your impressions, thoughts and critiques.
